We have recently been speaking with an amazing business in Kent, who were just a little too late to be able to sponsor us for 2021, but who wanted to be on board with Celeb FC in some way & are very interested in being along in 2022.

So we thought we would introduce Charles Athelstan to our followers, so you know who they are, when they hopefully become full sponsors..

Based in Faversham in Kent, the name Charles Athelstan was inspired by the two Kings. Charles II (1660-1685) and King Athelstan (894-939) who both visited the town.

Charles II stayed in Faversham during the restoration of the monarchy in 1660, there is a plaque that shows the residence of the mayor, captain John Trowts, stating “Herein he entertained Charles II whos’ exile at Breda he shared”.

King Athelstan was King of the Anglo Saxons from 924 to 927 and crowned King of England from 927-939 until he died. During his stay, King Athelstan held a council meeting at Faversham.  Athelstan Road is after him, marking his connection with the town.

The founder, Peter, has tried to bring to life products that have a real British historical connection.

They are certainly a hit with a number of celebs…..
