The Celeb FC Fox recently caught up with Kirsty Eaton, Founder of Celeb FC Charity Football Mental Health “Reach Out For Mental Health”.

ROFMH are a group, working on eradicating the stigma associated
with men and their mental health.

ROFMH offers a variety of support for those struggling with suicidal thoughts.
Kirsty explained, that they offer lots of different kinds of support, some of which are detailed below.

  • Coffee Afternoons. Facilitated by a trained volunteer who either has their own lived experience of mental health problems, has supported someone close to them with suicidal thoughts or sadly might have lost someone to suicide.
  • Telephone befriending support. Facilitated by trained volunteers, again all of whom have their own lived experience.
  • 12 weeks of FREE counselling with a trainee counsellor. This can be conducted over the phone, online or face to face.

ROFMH offer easy to access ways to talk in confidence, with a friendly, trained local person in the Essex area.

All you need to do is call 07308 069 609 to speak with ROFMH Service Coordinator, Karen, who will, find out more about your situation and together you can make a decision about what you feel is best for you.

Reach Out for Mental Health is entirely funded by donations, grants and fundraising.

With that in mind, ROFMH and Celeb FC have created a football event to get the conversation started about men and suicide.Charity Football Match Essex

Over the last few of months they invited men to come along to a series of football sessions to get together, share their experiences, kick a ball about and create a new support network among one another.

All the way through the process, every man was given the opportunity to access 12 weeks of FREE therapy sessions through ROFMH and the newly created sustainable support network.

These sessions all lead up to the big event; our ROFMH lads against Celeb FC taking place on 8th September at Stanway Rovers.

Gates open at 2pm and kick off at 3pm.

We’re thrilled to have the support of Chris Hobart who will be performing in the club house before KO and at half time. Chris is a phenomenal performer who has worked with artists such as Lee Ryan from Blue and the incredible Joan Armatrading.

If at the end of this we can enable one man to access the help he needs to LIVE, then we have achieved something wonderful.

He who saves one life, saves the world entire.
